Manage File Transfer from End-to-End

Primeur

Primeur, a privately held Italian International company specializing in Business Integration, Security and Systems Management, has announced that it will integrate IBM’s new WebSphereMQ File Transfer application into its innovative and well established Spazio MFT/S Managed File Transfer solution.

Spazio MFT/S is a secure Managed File Transfer solution for Internal Integration and Multi-Enterprise collaboration supporting multiple Internet and Proprietary protocols. Adding IBM’s new WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition will mean that users of Spazio MFT/S will be able seamlessly to transfer files from, say, an internal system via WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition to an external customer using FTP or another Internet or Industry Standard protocol supported by Spazio MFT/S. The sending application only needs to know the destination as Spazio MFT/S will manage the transfer from end-to-end including the integration between the WebSphere MQ infrastructure and the external heterogeneous data mover network. In reverse, files received externally via any Industry Standard File Transfer protocol can be seamlessly moved by Spazio MFT/S through the network ending up being delivered internally via WebSphere MQ Transfer Edition.

“As a Premier level IBM Business Partner, we welcome this announcement from IBM”, said Edoardo Musso, President & CEO of Primeur. “We have provided both Managed File Transfer solutions and WebSphere consultancy to our customers for many years. Combining IBM’s new application with Spazio MFT/S will greatly increase the Return on Investment that IBM’s customers have already made in WebSphere, providing them for the first time with the possibility of internally using a single Message and File infrastructure and being able to interface this network seamlessly with the external world”.

Interfacing file based (legacy) applications, particularly in a multi-enterprise collaboration environment nearly always requires mediation of the files at some point in the data movement flow/process. Spazio MFT/S already had the ability to both manage large (Gb) files and mediate files through WebSphere Message Broker and now, with Spazio MFT/S integration with WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition, users have the ability fully to utilize WebSphere Message Broker and/or WebSphere TX for all file and message mediation requirements, including file/message transformation, using any Internet or Industry standard protocol to deliver or accept files.

With Spazio MFT/S, users have always been able to manage and secure their internal and external file transfer over multiple Internet and proprietary protocols. By integrating IBM’s new WebSphereMQ File Transfer with Spazio MFT/S, users will now be able to:
  • Seamlessly move files between external customers/partners and an internal WebSphere MQ or Bus infrastructure
  • Track and report on End-to-End file movement with web-based Business Level reporting
  • Include Legacy applications, regardless of file transfer protocol, in a SOA environment
  • Use a single Message and File infrastructure, WebSphereMQ, thus reducing cost and increasing RoI
The most common ‘competitors’ to any internal Managed File Transfer solution are homegrown FTP solutions, which although technically free are neither well managed, secured or without significant maintenance costs. Combining Spazio MFT/S with IBM’s new WebSphereMQ File Transfer application enables users to address the failings of FTP and implement a cost effective and secure solution for internal and multi-enterprise file transfer.

Primeur, established in 1986, is a multi-national corporation that is a leading supplier of middleware, and Managed File Transfer and Security product solutions for distributed and heterogeneous computer systems and environments.
